Academy FAQ

Please check your spam! This is where it is normally found; make sure to add us as a contact :) If you're still unable to locate the weekly automated emails, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can troubleshoot with the website provider. You can always manually log in to watch your videos here each week. Some students also find it helpful to also set calendar reminders to log in each week. There will also be a lesson-specific post on Mondays within the private Facebook group.

If you would like to receive the certificate at the end of the course, weekly homework is required. Homework consists of watching each weekly video, reading the "Required Reading" PDFs provided on the video's page, and answering at least one journal question in the private Facebook group.

If you need to update your payment/credit card information, such as a new expiration date, you can login to your Academy library as usual and click on your profile picture circle in the top right corner. Then click on "Settings," and "Billing Info." You can then edit your information. 

Our website will automatically send you an email if your payment method is declined; usually it's because your expiration date, etc., needs to be updated. These emails may go to your spam folder, and after three attempts to collect payment, it cancels your subscription. Make sure to check your spam and add us as a contact 🙂

If you are canceling your subscription, please email us at [email protected].  We are not able to give refunds at this time, as Academy funds go directly toward monthly grants we give to single mothers leaving abuse that our organization supports.

After emailing us, if you pay via PayPal, please double-check that you have canceled within your PayPal account as well. You have to cancel on your end if you use Paypal. If you need help, please email us at [email protected] 
If you pay via credit card, we are able to cancel that for you.

If you are wanting to do the course at a later time, we offer courses in September and March each year; you can save your spot on the pre-registration waiting list here. 

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer extensions as they interfere with the focus of the course, which is learning domestic abuse advocacy through participation and discussion with a cohort of fellow students during a limited period of time, with whom you will share regular interactions and a virtual graduation at the end.

We are also not able to keep up with varying end dates for different students administratively. Thank you for understanding! If you would like to work through the material at your own pace, we have a student discount available for lifetime access to the course. It doesn't result in certification, but it does allow you unlimited time to study the material for personal growth and equipping if that best serves you. The link to purchase this is released to all students in Month 12 of the course. 

If you are wanting to cancel now and join the next course, it starts March 5, 2023; send us an email and we will give you a discount based on the percentage of the course you completed this time! 

Access to course content ends two weeks after the final Month 12 video. If you would like to continue your access, we have a student discount available for lifetime access to the course. It doesn't result in certification, but it does allow you unlimited time to study the material. The link to purchase this is released to all students within the private Facebook cohort in Month 11 of the course.
